  PRIVACY NOTICE 2006  
     
  Our Commitment to Protecting Your Privacy  
  Toyota Federal Credit Union is committed to providing you with financial products and services to meet your needs and help you reach your financial goals. We know that you expect privacy and security for your personal financial information. The purpose of this notice is to explain how Toyota FCU protects and uses your personal information when and after you obtain a product or service from us. We want you to know that the information given to us is safe, secure, and used in a responsible manner.

 
  Information Collection  
  In order for us to process or administer the products and services you have requested from us, comply with government regulations, improve our products and services, and better understand your financial needs, we collect and maintain a range of data including non-public personal information. We collect this information from the following sources:  
     
 
  1. Information we receive from you on applications or other forms, such as your name, address, phone number, social security number, assets, income and employment history.
  2. Information about your transactions, loans, and payment history, credit card usage and other account information.
  3. Information we receive from third parties, including consumer reporting agencies, such as your credit worthiness and credit history.
  4. Information from vendors and service companies, such as a property appraisal, purchase contract, or investment account; and general information such as demographic information.
 
  Information Sharing  
  We may disclose all the information that we collect, as described above, to third parties, such as credit reporting agencies, federal regulators and real estate loan investors, and as otherwise permitted by law, in order to do business with you.
While the following examples do not cover every situation permitted under the law, we hope they help you to understand how your information may be shared. We may share non-public personal information:
  1. With companies that work for us to service your accounts, or to provide services or process transactions you've requested. For example, the vendor who performs our monthly statement preparation, data processing, or provides online transactions or account maintenance capabilities.
  2. With a party representing you, such as your investment representative, or other third parties at your direction/consent.
  3. When permitted or required by law, such as in response to a subpoena or other legal/regulatory process.
 
  Additionally we may disclose non-public personal information to companies that perform marketing services on your behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements. If this occurs we will ensure that the outside companies with whom we do business are under contractual obligation to protect the confidentiality of your information and to use it only to provide the services we have asked them to perform.

 
  Disclosure of Information About Former Members  
  If you decide to terminate your membership with us, we will not share information we have collected about you, except as may be permitted or required by law.

 
  Maintenance of Accurate Information  
  We have established procedures designed to ensure that your information is as accurate and complete as possible. If you believe that our records contain inaccurate or incomplete information about you, please notify us by calling 800-230-3306. We will promptly correct the information and address any inquiries.

 
  Confidentiality and Security  
  Our employees are required to follow procedures with respect to maintaining the confidentiality of your non-pubic personal information. We restrict access to non-public information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you.
We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your non-pubic personal information. This includes performing ongoing evaluations of our systems containing your information, and making changes when appropriate.

 
  Annual Update  
  We will send you a notice of our privacy policy annually for as long as you maintain membership with us. Periodically we may revise our privacy policy, and will provide you with a revised policy if the changes materially alter the previous privacy notice. We will not however, revise our privacy policy to permit the sharing of non-public personal information other than described in this notice unless we first notify you.
